BLASTING COPPER CONDUCTORS

The Industry standard - low resistance - high breaking strength. Red or Yellow Vinyl - Plastic insulation.

The rapidly growing technical aspects of engineered blasting techniques used by the Blasting Industry today, demands far greater reliability from the accessories used to detonate the shot. Our field proven Vinyl-Plastic insulating compounds meet and surpass the needs for tough, rugged wire insulation. Both oil and water resistant, they are able to take abuse and punishment of rough terrain. These products are compatible with AN/PO type explosions. These wires are designed, engineered, produced, packaged and shipped to fill the needs of all electric blasting systems.

There is no doubt that copper conductors have proven to be the best means of carrying current from a source of electric energy to the end use. Copper is not only a good conductor of electricity but it also has good tensile and flexing strength. Copper connecting wire is almost always of the soft drawn type with no plating or overlay over the metal.

A vivid Red marker on one conductor of this two conductor parallel construction affords the user a positive circuit identification in all series-parallel blasting patterns (Fig 1.). Wires are individually insulated with tough water and oil resistant yellow plastic insulations. One wire can easily be separated from the other, without special tools, at any point along its length with cutting and splicing both leads (Fig. 2). Field personnel can make easier, quicker connections to the blasting wires. Costing only slightly more than a single connecting wire this easy-strip wire construction is specifically designed and packaged to fulfill the exacting blasting techniques.
